Just to do some name droppin', RYU-JA is a young producer who already worked with major artists such as Zeebra (#1 hip hop artist in Japan), Doberman Inc, Emi Maria and many more.

Summer is almost over

It's still super hot in here, humidity grade is always high but this doesn't mean I can't be always creative and productive!

Me, Willy Styles and DJ $hin finished to record our project together a couple of weeks ago so by the time we finish mixing and mastering process I might leak something. You can already listen to some of the tunes in the videos I put preaviously.

But it's not over, I just started a new project...stay tuned cause in the next weeks I'll keep you updated with some exclusive stuff ;)

Congrats to Nicolay, who's one of the best producers out there imho, cause his new instrumental album is about to drop. The 1st one was crazy, I always wanted to record a couple of joints over it but I was too shy to ask him the permission to use his beats :P

If he did Shibuya I might do Namba, or maybe Shinsaibashi ;)

Oggi pomeriggio m'arriva una mail da un amico "...Charlie P e la Banda su Il Messaggero di oggi!". La cosa mi puzza un po' visto che non ho rilasciato nessuna intervista e infatti scopro che ci sta semplicemente una foto fatta con la Banda 400 e Tony Sky per un flyer di una serata. ROMA - «Giro cor cortello quando giro per Tufello, giro cor cortello quando passo di qui»...eppure lui, che firma i suoi testi e musica hip hop col nome d’arte di Rancore, al Tufello c’è nato: «è lì che vivo, conosco ogni curva, ogni strada, ogni bivio, se vuoi te la descrivo, per me non è un bel posto...». E’ uno tosto, Rancore, uno delle decine di “kamikaze” di periferia che ogni giorno vanno a infrangersi contro il muro del silenzio, del menefreghismo, della incomunicabilità, cittadino di una metropoli che non lo riconosce, non lo va a snidare per sapere ciò di cui ha bisogno. Disoccupazione, case popolari, immigrazione, vita spericolata, fame e droga, prostituzione e delinquenza, antiche piazze spazzate via, nuovi muretti innalzati per far credere che lì c’è aggregazione. L’Hip Hop dei nuovi cronisti della Capitale scrive sul taccuino della propria pelle quello che i media non possono o non vogliono vedere: «...Il giorno in cui ti fai mille domande, come un bambino quando immagina come sarà da grande. E’ dura sull’asfalto caldo e perdo sangue, ma ho imparato a camminare da solo con le mie gambe». Sono loro, e sono sempre di più, l’esercito musicale che ha preso il posto dei grandi scrittori della periferia degradata; sono i nuovi cantori delle borgate che inneggiano al «padre Pasolini» e hanno nomi improbabili, sigle di vita come Triba e Kalibro della borgata Palmarola, Colle der Fomento, Er Negretto, Crema, Duke Montana e Seppia, Saga Er Secco e Le Cicalone, Banda 400 e Noyz Narcos. S’incanalano nei cavi di Internet, scalano i portali di Youtube e MySpace, i più fortunati trovano una casa discografica ma tra i giovani sono i più conosciuti, sono quelli fuori dal coro, dal commerciale, quelli che incarnano la loro anima nera e che c’azzeccano.

Tengono in mano la mappa della Roma nata ai bordi di periferia e hanno fan a migliaia, provate a cliccare su Forumhiphop.net e conoscerete i loro tour, dove montano palchi e amplificatori, da Tbm (Tor Bella Monaca) al Tufello, da Ostia a Centocelle, Acilia e Fidene, Torre Maura e San Basilio. Chi vuole conoscere, oggi, ciò che pulsa nella nuova periferia romana deve fare i conti con l’hip hop di questi giovani rapper.

C’è poco da dire, ma solo da ascoltare, da annotare per avere una esatta radiografia di ciò che succede fuori dalla Roma Per Bene come titola un pezzo del Saga: «E’ la Roma per bene dei soldi e delle automobili, delle buone conoscenze e dei cognomi nobili, delle conferenze e dei modi ignobili con cui nella vita fanno strada donne e uomini...E NOI? Nel quartiere tra palazzi e botte, tra spaccio e mignotte, Paura quando è notte, ma poi a chi è che fotte?». Nell’underground hip hop nazionale, che va da Bologna al Salento, da Napoli a Milano e Torino, Calabria e Sicilia, la scena romana è una delle più incisive e oggi fa i conti anche con una immigrazione che è il nuovo fenomeno da inglobare. Ma loro, i nuovi arrivati, chi dall’America nera chi da Capo Verde, sono già parte del fenomeno hip hop di periferia. Canta Er Negretto: «...E’ la città Eterna...tutta non la conosco, vorrei giralla tutta ma non ci riesco, è questa la jungla in cui cresco...da Tor bella a Maranella fino a Garbatella, Roma quanto sei bella quando è sera, tutti a cantà Venditti sventolando la bandiera...Roma capoccia del monno infame, mosse notturne le fughe sulla Tangenziale, è n’bel romanzo criminale, nun me chiamà laziale mesà che caschi male...».

C’è chi canta la Roma del malaffare chi quella del titolone a cinque in cronaca nera, chi la città del non futuro («Stampato come il fax il mio destino» scrive Rancore) chi quella della Fame; così canta il Saga di Tor Bella Monaca: «Secco, voi sapè la mia famiglia com’è messa? Mia nonna chiusa in casa che prega o che va a messa...non voglio stare a guardare in una casa popolare il mondo che va avanti e che procede e io sono qui a pensare...mi ritrovo i panni da lavoro sporchi e ho vent’anni, occhi tristi e tutti che mi dicono insisti, dimmi o dammi...E’ fame, è normale che qui non si resiste...è triste ma è quello che io vivo e vedo ed è inutile ripetere che io non ci credo. A tutto c’è rimedio ma tra le grida d’aiuto l’indifferenza è un assordante suono muto». In Io sono un soldato, l’affresco è straziante: «Questa è la mia vita e combatto da quando sono nato...Magari adesso andavo all’università e tra poco sarei stato a capo dell’azienda di papà con un attico stupendo al centro della città...quello che vuoi se strappa se non c’hai la pappa pronta, ogni cosa fatta la farei un’altra volta. Per ogni lacrima so che un angelo m’ascolta...».

I nuovi idoli femminili sono loro, le Cicalone che si fanno chiamare Fatha: dure nella vita ma tenere di cuore, quelle che in un pezzo clicattissimo su Youtube rappano: «Bada so la queen, so na fata, io te manno a casa e si me vedi cambia strada...Io c’ho na rabbia dentro che non puoi immaginare, io che me la rido e te ancora a pensare, ma a noi che ce ne frega si stai solo come un cane. E’ uguale. E intanto noi continuamo a fasse male...». In fondo, forse, quelli della periferia li vogliono proprio così e i giovani lo sanno e cantano di nuovi ghetti urbani, come faceva il “padre” Pasolini. Xtreme Team intona: «...In mezzo a sti palazzi nun vedo er mare ma na cifra de sirene. E sta città così mi vuole. Noi, musicisti della domenica

Incomincio questo 2009 (auguri, se vi fa piacere riceverli) con due chicche: si tratta di due documentari incentrati sulla situazione dei musicisti in Italia che, come potete immaginare, non è decisamente delle migliori.

Il primo è uno speciale del TG2 dossier dal titolo "Suono per vivere" realizzato da Bruna Fattenotte che cerca di indagare sia su un piano più underground che più istituzionalizzato parlando anche del campo del jazz e della classica.

Il secondo invece è un film/documentario realizzato da Ilaria "Ila" Scattina (cantautrice e web designer) dall'eloquente titolo "La guerra dei poveri, volevo fare il musicista..." (big up a Mr.Phil che aveva usato questo titolo per il suo disco). Qui il taglio è decisamente più underground ma comunque ci sono testimonianze di musicisti di vari generi e impegnati sia nelle esecuzioni dal vivo che nell'ambito discografico.

Detto questo vi auguro una buona visione, sperando che arrivati alla fine ai musicisti non sia passata troppo la voglia di suonare e che agli ascoltatori sia venuta voglia di regalare 10 euro al prossimo chitarrista che incontrano per strada!!!
